Roller Becca

So as you all know by now yesterday was my wife’s birthday. As part of the celebration I wanted to do something we have never done together and that she loved to do. Little did I know my wife was a rollerskating champion as a kid. Every weekend was spent at the rink with her gaggle of girlfriends. She even saved up her money and bought skates she customized herself. They even have Mustangs on the wheels, so you know I loved that. She is so proud of those skates. So of course I had to bring them. We got there right when it opened. It worked out perfect because the only day they are open during the week is Wednesday, which is on Becca’s birthday. So we got there and it was like stepping back in time. She was 13 again. She put on her skates that were still in perfect shape and she was bee-bopping all over the place.

I rented rollerblades because hockey ruined me on roller skates. I would break my neck on those things now. Becca however was awesome. She just sped around with this big smile on her face. I couldn’t stop smiling either. It made me really happy to see that she was having such a good time. I know one thing is for sure, it won’t be another 12 years before she goes skating.

2007 Fantasy Baseball Roster

So Russ and I were talking and I have decided to join a fantasy baseball league. I figured I would go through ESPN number one because it is free and number two because it was free. We’ll see how I do. I know what you are thinking. Why didn’t he just Draft the whole Tiger team. Believe me I would have if I didn’t like Jeter and Manny so much. In all seriousness the Tigers are going to be awesome this year. After seeing them play the last few pre season games, I think they are better this year than last year. Time will tell but I expect to see them playing in October. 3 Days, 2 hours, and 34 minutes till opening day!

4. “Free Bird” By Lynard Skynard. I recently watched Elizabeth town (great movie) and this song was in it and I was like “Oh yeah that is a great song.” So that’s why it’s on here.

3. “You Could be Happy” By Snow Patrol. This was in the Smallville episode Promise. It’s a great song.

2. “Love, Reign O’er Me” By Pearl Jam. Originally done by the Who, this song is excellent. I haven’t seen the movie yet but heard it is great.

1. “Out Of Breath” By Life House. This is on their second record Stanley ClimbFall.

Vote For The Worst!

So I found my new cause. Votefortheworst.com. This lovely little organization encourages America to vote for the underdog, ha who am I kidding? They want you to vote for the worst singer on American Idol. Basically the idea is that each year hundreds of talented singers are turned away in order to let certain people on the show who will create easy targets for the judges. See the producers aren’t out to make an American Idol, (at least not since the first season) they’re out to make good television. American Idol is just another “reality” show that lets you interact somewhat with the characters involved. Come on if it were really about talent then Chris Daughtry would have won instead of this guy. To find out more info go here. If the worst person becomes the next American Idol maybe the show will implode and we can finally have our Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays nights back. Our kids will do their homework. Husbands and wives will spend more time together. Dogs will no longer be hurried to go to the bathroom between commercial breaks. Life will return to normal. Please help.
